Connecting with Compassion around pregnancy loss, infant loss, and babies born to spirit

Dragonfly Support Program, ORE - A Place of Tender Love and Compassion, and a group of dedicated community members have joined together to organize a community gathering on Saturday, October 21st 2023 for people impacted by pregnancy loss, infant loss, and babies born to spirit. This in-person gathering will take place at Turtle Island Community Centre (510 King Street, Winnipeg Mb).

Connecting with Compassion will bring individuals and families together in a healing-centred space for a full day of presentations, teachings, ceremony, and activities to build up compassionate communities around these losses.

Connecting with Compassion will be held on Indigenous land. Manitoba is Anishnaabe, Ininiw (Cree), Anish-Inini (Oji-Cree), Dakota, and Dene Land. This is the homeland of the Metis nation. We are committed to uplifting Indigenous knowledges and practices at this gathering. Through centring and honoring Indigenous ways of knowing and doing, we work to actively challenge ongoing colonialism and work toward decolonial futures.

Registration includes all event programming, a full lunch and light refreshments throughout the day, a gift bundle, and a chance to take home one of several giveaway care packages.

Our registration fee is set at $50 to help offset the costs of this inaugural event, however it is important to us that financial means do not create barriers to attendance. If this fee presents a barrier for you and you would like to attend, please email us at dragonflyprogram@womenshealthclinic.org for sliding scale options as low as $0.

We are seeking community contributions and corporate sponsorship to support the success of this event and to ensure access for those who face financial barriers. If you or someone you know might be interested in sponsorship or donation opportunities, please get in touch!
